2025 Education Review Office Report
The philosophy values the provision of an inclusive environment where children, families, and teachers feel empowered and supported. It aims to create rich learning environments and implement intentional teaching practices that enable tamariki to explore, investigate, and create both independently and collaboratively. Children benefit from calm routines and sustained learning experiences, supported by strong relational trust between children and teachers, with educators responding thoughtfully to individual needs. Leaders and teachers build respectful, learning-focused partnerships with families that value parents’ goals and cultural contributions. Through ongoing communication and participation in cultural events, parents and whānau help shape the curriculum, strengthening children’s sense of belonging and supporting learning through play. Teachers regularly engage in meaningful collaboration to design and implement the curriculum, using this time to discuss children’s learning, coordinate parent involvement, and develop shared understandings of culturally valued learning. Leaders support teachers’ professional growth through mentoring, goal setting, and feedback, resulting in some improved practices, although this is not yet consistently evident. Overall, leaders work collaboratively with teachers, management, parents, and whānau, and engage in relevant professional learning to enact the service philosophy and progress priorities for children’s learning.
